OBJETOS ≠ SUJETOS explora la identidad en un mundo que transita hacia la equidad de género, donde los objetos salen de los límites impuestos por los mandatos sociales para adquirir un nuevo significado. La fuerza física, la estética, el deporte, los códigos de vestimenta, la limpieza y el cuidado de los niños son algunos de los conceptos que transitan los objetos expuestos, a fin de ampliar la tradicional dicotomía entre el universo masculino y el femenino hacia la diversidad. Los colores blanco y negro no son utilizados necesariamente como opuestos ni como representaciones de dicha polaridad de género, sino por su neutralidad. Utilizo el blanco para intervenir los objetos porque es la suma de todos los colores y el negro como fondo representa la ausencia total de color (febrero, 2016).
OBJECT ≠ SUBJECT explores identity in a world that is currently moving toward gender equality, where objects imposed by social mandates are slowly acquiring new meanings. Physical strength, aesthetics, sports, dress codes, cleaning, personal care and raising children are some of the concepts that converse with the objects exposed, aiming at expanding the traditional dichotomy between the male and female universe moving towards diversity. The black and white colors are not used necessarily as opposites or as representations of such polarity of gender or race, but used because of its neutrality. I used white to intervene the objects with spray paint before photographing them because it is the sum of all colors and the use of the color black on the background represents the total absence of color (February, 2016).
